Ridgefield Ranks High On List Of Burglary-Safe Zones RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Ridgefield has been named No. 2 on the top 10 list for large towns that are burglary safe, according to Protect America, a national home security company. The company's research team divides all U.S. communities into categories based on population. Ridgefield falls into the “large town edition," which covers communities with populations between 20,000 and 100,000 people.  Protect America then analyzes burglary statistics provided by the FBI to determine what cities have the lowest burglary rates.
