Pawling Free Library Job Fair Will Include Resume Tips
PAWLING, N.Y. -- Meghan Heady-Amara of Dutchess OneStop will lead a job fair at Pawling Free Library on Monday, Nov. 16. Heady-Amara will meet with participants one-on-one to offer assistance crafting a resume and feedback on an existing resume, as well as assistance with job searching, interviewing and more. Fishkill Ceremony Honors The Mt. Beacon Eight
FISHKILL, N.Y. -- The Town of Fishkill War Memorial Park will host a ceremony in honor of the 70th anniversary of the Mt. Beacon Eight on Saturday, Nov. 14. At approximately noon on Nov. 11, 1945, six Navy servicemen lost their lives when a Beechcraft Twin Engine Navy Transport crashed on Mt. Beacon. The ceremony will also honor the two Navy servicemen who lost their lives in a 1935 crash on Mt. Beacon. The ceremony begins at 1 p.m.

'Beekman's Got Talent' Set For Friday
POUGHQUAG, N.Y. --Beekman Recreation and Parks will hold the "Beekman's Got Talent" singing and dancing contests on Friday, Nov. 13. The talent competition is geared towards kids in grades 4 through 6. Participants should come with their song or dance routine to compete. Kids are also welcome to watch. Darien Artist To Discuss Techniques, Inspiration At Lionheart Gallery
DARIEN, Conn. -- The Lionheart Gallery will host a free "Ask the Artists Talk" on Saturday. The talk will cover the difference between techniques, such as intaglio printing, monotypes, collage and encaustic paintings. Attendees can ask artists, such as printmakers Karen Vogel, of Darien, Roxanne Faber Savage and Liz Dexheimer; collage artists Geoffrey Stein and Margaret Noel; and paper weaver Constance Old, about their works and inspirations. STAMFORD, Conn. -- The storytelling show and pie bake-off Pro(se) of Pie will come to the Stamford Innovation Center on Nov. 14. WEST NYACK, N.Y. -- The McCloskey Council of the Knights of Columbus will give free wheelchairs to veterans on Saturday, Nov. 14. The brand new wheelchairs will be distributed free of charge at St. Francis of Assisi Church in West Nyack beginning at 12:30 p.m. The chairs have 20-inch seat width, solid rubber wheels, and are easily foldable.
