Mahwah Township Council Introduces Ban On Unregulated Pipelines MAHWAH, N.J. – The Mahwah Township Council introduced an ordinance that would ban unregulated pipelines at its Dec. 17 meeting, according to NJ.com. The decision comes after a Dec. 7 meeting when dozens of residents opposed building a stretch of the Pilgrim Pipeline through Mahwah. Plans are to build parallel pipelines some 178 miles from Linden to Albany, N.Y., reported NJ.com. Whether the proposed ban would hold up in court is unknown at this time. Protests At St. Patrick's Cathedral Target Pearl River Priest PEARL RIVER, N.Y. – Protesters gathered outside St. Patrick's Cathedral in Manhattan on Sunday over the suspension of Pearl River Monsignor John O'Keefe over allegations of abuse, according to News 12 Westchester. The allegations date to the early 1980s, when O'Keefe was the head of Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx. One man at the protest said he was one of a number of students abused by O'Keefe while at Cardinal Hayes, reported News 12 Westchester. Suffern Woman Injured In Car Accident SUFFERN, N.Y. – A Suffern woman was injured when she was hit by a car Wednesday night, according to News 12. The woman was walking on a dark stretch near Wayne Avenue and Stewart Circle about 9:45 p.m. when she was hit. Police say the driver was not at fault and are still investigating the cause of the accident, reported News 12. The victim is recuperating at Nyack Hospital after undisclosed injuries.
