DWI Jefferson Twp Driver Found Unconscious Slumped Over Steering Wheel: Police
A 32-year-old Jefferson Township man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated on Saturday, June 7, in Denville, authorities said.
At 4:52 p.m., Paul Rankin Jr. was found unconscious slumped over the steering wheel on Franklin Road near the Route 46 traffic light, Denville police said.

DWI Driver Trapped After Crashing Into Tree: Holmdel PD
A 56-year-old Holmdel man had to be extricated from his vehicle after he crashed into a tree while driving drunk on Tuesday, June 3, authorities said.
At 4:25 p.m., a 2021 Jeep, operated by George Vellios, was traveling southbound on Holmdel Road when it crossed into the northbound lane, left the roadway and struck a tree, Holmdel police said.
Vellios was removed from the vehicle by the Holmdel Fire Department and was transported to a nearby hospital, police said.
Vellios was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving, among other traffic offenses, police said.
DWI Wayne Driver Speeding, Failed To Yield: Fairfield PD
A 23-year-old Wayne resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in Fairfield early morning, Sunday, May 18, authorities said.
At 12:34 a.m., officers observed a white Honda Civic exit the Route 80 West ramp onto Lane Road at a high rate of speed and then failed to yield prior to entering Two Bridges Road from Lane Road, Fairfield police said.
During a motor vehicle stop, the driver, Kyle Quiroga, exhibited signs and symptoms of someone under the influence, police said. Quiroga refused to comply with standard field sobriety tests and was arrested, police said.
