New Study Reveals CT's Favored Dog Breed Thanks to a new study, Connecticut's preferred breed of four-legged friends has been revealed.  According to a study by PetLab, the Nutmeg State's favored and most searched-for breed of dog is the Golden Retriever.  To determine this, PetLab's pet nutrition experts used Google's Keyword Planner to look at more than 200 breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club alongside search terms such as "buy" and "adopt." Lithium Ion Battery Causes House Fire In Somers Firefighters were dispatched to a Northern Westchester residence after a lithium-ion battery sparked a blaze at the home.  The incident happened on Wednesday, Jan. 24 around 2:50 p.m., when a fire began at a residence in Somers in the Amawalk area, according to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department.  Arriving crews found heavy smoke coming from the home and began knocking out the flames with help from several mutual aid departments.  Luckily, the fire was put out with little damage to the residence. The top-prize-winning Take 5 ticket, worth $18,932.50, was bought in New Rochelle for the midday drawing on Thursday, Jan. 25, New York Lottery officials announced.  The location where the ticket was bought was revealed to be a gas station at 635 Main St. (Route 1), officials said.
