Officials To Study Flood-Prone Area In Greenburgh, Provide Recommendations For Prevention In an effort to reduce flooding, New York state officials will soon be studying a watershed in Westchester to provide town officials with recommendations on how to make the area more resilient to rain events. Duo Nabbed After Pulling Out Gun In CT Walmart, Threatening Customers: Police Two women face a heap of charges after pulling out a loaded firearm while engaging in a verbal dispute with customers at a Connecticut Walmart store, police said. Drunk Driver Nabbed After Striking Guard Rail, Fleeing Scene In Wilton: Police A 47-year-old woman faces several charges after crashing into a guard rail in Fairfield County while drunk and driving away from the scene before eventually being caught, police announced. The incident happened on Wednesday, Dec. 20 around 9:30 p.m., when a 1998 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Ridgefield resident Paula Carter, age 47, was traveling north on Danbury Road by the intersection with Olmstead Hill Road in Wilton and struck a guardrail, according to Wilton Police. 2 People Hospitalized After Tree Falls On Occupied Car In Cortlandt Two people were hospitalized after a large tree fell on an occupied vehicle in Northern Westchester and caused severe damage. The incident happened in Cortlandt on Friday, Dec. 29 just after 1 p.m., when members of the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department were sent to Mount Airy Road West, where a tree had fallen on a car. Car Goes Up In Flames At Intersection In Somers Firefighters had to race to a Northern Westchester intersection after a car caught on fire, officials said. The incident happened on Sunday, Dec. 24 just after 3:30 p.m., when firefighters from the Somers Volunteer Fire Department were sent to the intersection of Pines Bridge Road and Moseman Avenue for a motor vehicle fire, the department said.
