New Rochelle Cheerleading Show Featured In USA Today
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- New Rochelle's upcoming annual cheerleading show was featured in USA Today on Thursday, Jan. 14. The show will feature both the varsity and junior varsity squads, as well as the prep squad and junior Huguenots performing their routines at New Rochelle High School's gymnasium on Feb. 1 at 7 p.m., USA Today reported. City Re-Opens Garden Street Through Public-Private Partnership
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- After being closed for 43 years, Garden Street in Poughkeepsie has re-opened due to funding from Central Hudson’s Main Street Revitalization program. Mayor Rob Rolison, Council Chair Chris Petsas, Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro, John Maserjian from Central Hudson, Poughkeepsie Alliance Co-Chair Paul Calogerakis and other local officials, business owner and residents attended the ribbon cutting opening. Stamford Athlete Nominated For McDonald's All American Games
STAMFORD, Conn. -- Three local athletes were nominated to play in the 2016 McDonald's All American Games. The Fairfield County nominees are Dom Cristiano from Westport's Greens Farms Academy, Tiana England from Stamford High School and Abbie Wolf of Greenwich High School. The Fairfield County trio were among 755 nominees from 49 states, but not the final roster for the All American Games. The final roster for the basketball tournament consists of 24 boys and 24 girls. North Castle Resident Proposes Term Limits Ballot Question
NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. -- A North Castle resident wants to place a term limits proposition on the November ballot, according to the Examiner. Anthony Futia plans to get the proposition on the general election ballot through petitions to be circulated this summer, the Examiner reported. Hudson Valley Farm Sued For Being 'Too Smelly'
Local businesses and residents filed a lawsuit against a Bethel farmer for having "too smelly" of a farm, according to Time Warner Cable News. The suit alleges that Peter Hofstee maliciously spread rotten eggshells and offensively malodorous manure too close to their property, Time Warner Cable News reported. The owner of Catskill Distilling Company said the liquid duck manure at one of the farm's fields just 50 feet away negatively impacted business after the smell made people sick and deterred visiting customers, said Time Warner Cable News. Brookfield Police Welcome New Cruiser
BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- The Brookfield Police Department now has a new cruiser patrolling local streets. The new Ford Explorer Police Interceptor replaced the patrol fleet's last Ford Crown Victoria, which now will be used for road and construction duty.

FORT LEE, N.J. -- Mayor Mark Sokolich said during his State of the Borough address that 2016 will be busier for construction than last year, according to NorthJersey.com.
