MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Almerinda Valvano, of Mount Vernon, died on Monday, April 6. She was 96 years old.
She was born in Guardia Lombardi, Italy, on Jan. 26, 1919, to Gaetano and Filomena Valvano.
She is survived by her nephew, Ralph (Teresa) Caruso; and three nieces, Theresa DiMatteo; Lucille Benz; and Gina DiMatteo.
Visitation is Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Yannantuono Burr Davis SharpeFuneral Home, 584 Gramatan Ave, Mount Vernon.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Ann Walsh Gaughan, of Fairfield, died on Sunday, April 5. She was 81 years old.
Born in Scranton, Pa., on July 10, 1933, to John and Mary Walsh, she was a nurse at St. Vincent's Medical Center for 25 years, and until recently, worked for the St. Vincent's Wellness Center performing blood pressure and cholesterol screenings.

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Rose M. Telesco, of Port Chester, died at her home on Tuesday, April 7. She was 97.
She was born on Feb. 12, 1918 in Port Chester, to Angelo “Charlie” and Theresa (Salvatore) Cavallo.
Telesco dedicated her entire life to her children and grandchildren. An exceptional seamstress, she took pleasure in knitting and crocheting blankets. She enjoyed cooking and baking especially around the holidays. Telesco was a member of the Sacred Heart Church Rosary Altar Society.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Kathleen Margaret Walsh, died at St Joseph's Manor, Trumbull, on Wednesday, April 8. She was 85.
She was born in Bridgeport, Conn., to Bernard and Kathleen McBride.She attended St. Augustine School, Lauralton Hall and Central HIgh School.
She was a resident of Fairfield for 35 years before moving to Oronoque Village in Stratford.
She worked as a book keeper at Mohegans in downtown Bridgeport after high school, with a brief job change to Fairfield Lumber, where she met her future husband, Edward Francis Walsh.
