Edna McCallion, 97, Longtime Pelham Resident PELHAM MANOR, N.Y. -- Edna McCallion of Pelham Manor passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 22, at her home surrounded by her family. She was 97 years old.  Edna was born in Manhattan in 1917 to Robert and Elizabeth Johnson. She met her husband, Harry, while a student at Hunter College. Edna and Harry had four boys, and they moved to Pelham Manor from Parkchester (the Bronx) when the youngest was just a few months old. She lived in Pelham for the next 64 years. Rye Library Posters Highlight Hazards Of Distracted Walking, Driving RYE, N.Y. -- Posters illustrating the dangers of distracted walking and driving are on display at the Rye Free Reading Room from Jan. 10 through Jan. 30.  A reception and awards ceremony is planned for Wednesday, Jan. 14, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Rye YMCA, as part of its Safe Routes to School initiative, invited students to create the posters, which are both thought-provoking and graphically interesting. New Canaan's St. Luke's Celebrates the Season NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- St. Luke’s School faculty and staff strolled among rows, and rows of delicious holiday treats, packing gift boxes with goodies along the way for a sweet St. Luke's holiday tradition, the Cookie Stroll.  The cookie spread was thanks to the school's Parents' Association. Development Associate Stefanie Ciaccia said, “The Cookie Stroll is one of my favorite days of the year. It’s so thoughtful of the Parents’ Association.
