RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- JD Souther, an American songwriter, will be in concert at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Saturday, June 20 at 8 p.m.
Souther co-wrote some of the biggest hits for the Eagles, including "Best of My Love," "Victim of Love," and "New Kid in Town." Linda Ronstadt also recorded ten of his songs, including "Faithless Love," "Simple Man, Simple Dream," and "Prisoner in Disguise." Peekskill's Lincoln Depot Museum Celebrates Juneteenth With Ceremony
PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The Lincoln Depot Museum will be conducting a traditional Juneteenth Flag Raising ceremony on Friday, June 19, to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Juneteenth celebration to end slavery.
The event will take place at 6 p.m. on the museum ground at 10 South Water Street in Peekskill, N.Y.
Also known as Emancipation Celebration, Freedom Day and Juneteenth Independence Day, Juneteenth celebrates when, on June 19, 1865, in Galveston Texas, final freedom of all slaves was finally proclaimed.
