FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Gap, Inc. announced on Monday that 175 of its 675 stores in North America will be closing over the next few years.
Though approximately 500 stores will remain open, as well as 300 outlet stores, the loss of one-fourth of its stores will have a negative affect on thousands of jobs, the Times report said. The company has not yet reported how many jobs will actually be lost among their 141,000 employees, reported the Times.

WESTPORT, Conn. -- Jacqueline Chappo, a Staples High senior, was the recipient of the 2015 League of Women Voters of Westport’s Staples Tuition Grant, according to a press release.
The award of $2,000 was presented at the league’s annual meeting Wednesday, June 3, at the Norwalk Inn.
