Man Fatally Struck By Train In Rahway: NJ Transit A man was fatally struck by an NJ Transit train on the evening of Tuesday, Oct. 15 in Rahway, authorities said. The man was struck at 7:45 p.m. by Northeast Corridor train 3963, which had departed Penn Station New York at 7:12 p.m. and was set to arrive in Trenton at 8:36 p.m., NJ Transit said. There were no injuries to the 450 customers and crew on board, NJ Transit said.. Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coastline service was temporarily suspended  resumed with up to 90-minute delays in both directions, NJ Transit said. New Jersey Transit Police are investigating.

Bicyclist Airlifted To Hospital After Trash Can Crash In Warren County: Njsp A 24-year-old bicyclist had to be airlifted to a hospital after he collided with a trash can in Warren County on the afternoon of Tuesday, Oct. 15. The crash occurred at 1:30 p.m. at Hope Road in Liberty Township, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The cyclist sustained moderate injuries after crashing into the garbage can, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

Around 5 p.m., Jersey City police responded to Garfield Avenue and Brown Place and found Kashyne Grant with a gunshot wound to the upper body, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Matthew Kresch sent the text messages to the girl as part of an attempt to lure her into having sex, Hawthorne police said. He was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of luring. One Hospitalized In Sparta House Fire: Police One person was hospitalized following a house fire in Sparta on the evening of Monday, Oct. 14, authorities said. Firefighters responded to 190 West Shore Trail and worked to extinguish the blaze, Sparta police said in a release. One of the residents had to be transported to a nearby hospital with minor burns and smoke inhalation, police said. The Sparta Police Detective Bureau will be investigating the origin of the fire, police said.

Man Fatally Stabbed in East Orange: Prosecutor A 51-year-old man was fatally stabbed in East Orange on the morning of Sunday, Oct. 13, authorities said. At 11:29 a.m., East Orange police responded to an apartment on the 500 block of Main Street and found William Gilliam with apparent stab wounds, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and East Orange Police Chief Phyllis Bindi said. Gilliam was pronounced dead soon after, authorities said. This incident is being investigated by the Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force, which includes detectives from the East Orange Police Department, authorities said.

Antique Car Damaged In Frankford Township Crash: Firefighters An antique car suffered some scrapes in a car crash on Sunday, Oct. 13 in Sussex County. At 4:41 p.m., the Frankford Township Fire Department was dispatched to Route 206 and Broad Street for a car crash with injuries, firefighters said. Three people were evaluated for injuries and first responders dealt with a fuel spill from one of the vehicles, firefighters said. The injured people declined additional medical attention, firefighters said. “We were sad to see such a beautiful antique get damaged, but glad everyone was okay,” the Frankford Township Fire Department said.
