Man Shot In Jersey City: Authorities A 34-year-old man was briefly hospitalized after being shot multiple times in Jersey City on the early morning of Sunday, Oct. 6, authorities said. At 3:35 a.m., the man was transported to a nearby hospital from Eastern Parkway and Garfield Avenue after he sustained non-life threatening injuries to the right buttocks, right thigh area and right wrist, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said. He was treated and released from the hospital on Monday, Oct. 7, Wallace-Scalfione said. The investigation is ongoing, Wallace-Scalfione said.

Man With Dementia Missing In Belleville: Police A 72-year-old man diagnosed with dementia has been missing in Belleville since Sunday, Oct. 6, authorities said. Oscar was last seen in the area of St. Peters Church on William Street wearing a white jacket with red, yellow and blue stripes, blue jeans and blue sneakers, Belleville police said. He has also been diagnosed with asthma and diabetes, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact Belleville Police at 973-450-3334.

Cause Of Death Released For Whitney Houston's NJ Mom, Cissy Houston, 91 Cissy Houston, a Grammy Award-winning gospel singer and mother of Whitney Houston, died at home in Newark on Monday, Oct. 7. Armed Pleasantville Man Arrested For Atlantic City Shooting After Pursuit: Police A 43-year-old Pleasantville man was arrested on the early morning of Sunday, Oct. 6 after being involved in a shooting in Atlantic City in August, authorities said. At 6:26 a.m., officers observed Juan Maldonado on his bicycle on the 2500 block of Pacific Avenue, Atlantic City police said. Man Took Video Of Girl In Shower: Guttenberg PD A 46-year-old Guttenberg man was arrested and charged on Sunday, Oct. 6 with taking a video of his ex-girlfriend's young daughter exiting the shower, authorities said. The girl's mother said she went through her ex-boyfriend's cell phone and found a video of her daughter exiting the shower, completely nude, Guttenberg police said in a release. Motorcyclist Killed By Falling Tree On Route 46 A 32-year-old Hackettstown motorcyclist was killed after he was struck by a falling tree on Route 46 on Sunday, Oct. 6, authorities said. At 3:58 p.m., Travis Worrell was traveling westbound on a Honda motorcycle in White Township when a tree fell into the roadway and struck him, causing the motorcycle to overturn, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Worrell was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

Vehicle Goes Off Roadway On Route 80: Njdot A vehicle went off the roadway on Route 80 in Morris County on the morning of Monday, Oct. 7, authorities said. The vehicle left the roadway on Route 80 eastbound at Exit 47A in Parsippany-Troy Hills, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said. One lane is closed, the Department of Transportation said.
