Bus Driver, Passenger Arrested After Physical Fight: Newark PD A bus driver and a passenger were both arrested on Friday, Aug. 16 after they got into a physical altercation in Newark, authorities said. At noon, police responded to a report of a fight aboard a NJ Transit bus at Broad Street and Lafayette Street, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said.  The passenger spat on the driver after a verbal altercation, Fragé said. Both were charged with aggravated assault, Fragé said. The incident remains under investigation, Fragé said.

Support Swells After Man Injured in Warren County Motorcycle Crash Bryson Borgia was riding his motorcycle at 1 a.m. in Mansfield Township on Wednesday, Aug. 14, when he lost control and crashed, according to a fundraiser set up to support his medical expenses. Special Olympic Athlete Joseph Maccagnano, Hoboken Native, Dies At 58 Joseph Maccagnano, a longtime Hoboken resident and Special Olympian, died on Saturday, Aug. 17 at the age of 58, according to a fundraiser set up for funeral expenses. Maccagnano worked at Hudson Community Enterprises in Jersey City for 27 years and competed at the Special Olympics for 40 years, being named Athlete of the Year in 2019, according to his obituary at the Jorge Rivera Funeral Home.  Known as "Uncle," Maccagnano also bowled for the Ability League at Hudson Lanes. Police Describe SUV Sought In Crash That Killed Pedestrian In Parippany A man was struck and killed by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash in Parsippany Monday evening, Aug. 19, authorities said. Truck Collides With Three Vehicles On I-80 In Parsippany: Njsp A truck collied with three passenger vehicles on Route 80 in Morris County on the morning of Monday, Aug. 19, authorities said. The crash occurred at 7:24 a.m. on Route 80 westbound in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township between a box truck and three passenger vehicles, Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Multiple injuries were reported, though they were non-life-threatening, Marchan said. The crash remains under investigation, Marchan said.

Tractor Trailer Overturns On Route 287 In Boonton: Njsp A tractor trailer overturned on Route 287 in Morris County on the evening of Sunday, Aug. 18, authorities said. At 11:23 p.m., a truck was driving on Route 287 north in Boonton when it lost directional control, collided with a guardrail and overturned, Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.  No injuries were reported, Marchan said.
