Vira Mamchur Schwartz is the quintessential jack-of-all-trades... and master of a few of them. Vira’s editorial career started in technology publishing, writing and editing at the Ziff-Davis publication Computer Shopper. Later she served as Managing Editor at CD-ROM World and then Internet World, before moving to freelance writing.

Her articles have appeared in the New York Times, L.A. Times, Folio, Portable Computing, Internet Shopper and other websites and magazines that no longer exist. She ghost-wrote and designed an award-winning diet and fitness book for a popular fitness personality and, currently, loves to tell stories about people and animals.

Longtime Mamaroneck Resident Evelyn Harris Dies At 107 Evelyn T. Harris was born January 4, 1912 in New Orleans. She lived for seven decades in Mamaroneck and died in Charlottesville, VA. She was predeceased by her two children, Dixie and Rick and her husband Richard. She is survived by two grandchildren, Kevin Trainer and Colin Trainer and son-in-law Bill Trainer and two great-grandchildren. Services will be private. Arrangements by Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Lovingston, VA.

Mount Kisco's Robert Dolan, 81, Former Bedford Hills Fire Chief, Served Community For 56 Years Robert (Bob) Dolan was born in Mount Kisco on July 30, 1937 and continued to serve his community and raise his family there with his wife Kitty. He was an active member of the Bedford Hills Fire Department for 56 years. He served as chief in 1999 and is the son of ex-chief Joseph M. Dolan. Prior to joining the fire department he served in the Air Force for four years as a radar technician. He will be greatly missed as he leaves behind his wife, children and grandchildren.
