She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. 3 Shot, 1 Killed After Attempted Carjacking In Broad Daylight On CT Roadway One person is dead and two are in critical condition following what police in Connecticut believe was an attempted carjacking in broad daylight. The incident took place in Hartford around 3:15 p.m., Monday, Oct. 3, in the area of 1429 Park St. According to Lt. Aaron Boisvert, of the Hartford Police, officers responded to 1429 Park Street on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive man, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Hudson Valley Man Sentenced For Repeated Sexual Abuse Of Child A Hudson Valley man has been sentenced to state prison after pleading guilty to repeatedly sexually abusing a victim under the age of 13. Orange County resident Byron Romero, age 36, of New Windsor, was sentenced to 18 years in prison on Monday, Oct. 3, said Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler. Romero was also sentenced to 20 years post-release supervision. Prior to his release from state prison, Romero will be registered as a sex offender, Hoovler said. Separate Coyote Attacks On Dogs Reported In CT Two dogs were attacked and injured by coyotes in separate attacks in Connecticut. The Hartford County incidents took place in Burlington around dusk on Sunday, Oct. 2 in the Johnnycake Mountain Road area. According to Burlington Police Animal Control Officer Katie Meskun, the first dog was attacked by two coyotes when he was let outside of his home. The second attack took place close by when, again, a dog was let outside and attacked by a single coyote, Meskun said. Norwalk Police Investigating Assault At Youth Football Game Police in Fairfield County are seeking information and videos of an alleged assault at a youth football game. The incident took place in Norwalk at 1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 2 at the Brien McMahon High School field during a game. According to Sgt. Man Killed After Car Crashes Into Tree In Western Mass, Police Say A man died after crashing his car into a tree in Western Massachusetts. The crash took place in Hampden County around 1;20 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 1 in Springfield in the 700 block of Berkshire Avenue. According to Ryan Walsh, a spokesman for the Springfield Police, officers who responded to the area found a single-car crash into a tree. The lone occupant, an adult male, was transported to Baystate Hospital where he died from his injuries, Walsh said. The department's Traffic Unit is investigating.

Suspect On Run After Long Island Bank Robbery Police on Long Island are searching for a man who allegedly robbed a TD bank by passing a note to a teller. The incident took place in East Meadow around 1:50 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 2 at the TD Bank at 2549 Hempstead Turnpike. According to detectives, an unknown man entered the bank and approached a teller, and handed her a note demanding money. The teller complied and the subject fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of proceeds, police said. 23-Year-Old Dies After Jumping From Bridge In Hudson Valley A 23-year-old man was killed after driving onto a Hudson Valley bridge, exiting his vehicle, and jumping, according to authorities. Accused CT Bank Robber Nabbed After Chase, Crash, Police Say A Connecticut man is behind bars after allegedly holding up a victim at a Webster Bank ATM at gunpoint. The incident took place in Bristol around 11:20 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 2, at the bank located at 575 Farmington Ave. According to Lt. Craig O'Connor of the Bristol Police, William Walker, age 31, of Hartford, held the victim at gunpoint and then fled in a dark-colored Honda.
