Road Closure: Route 119 To Be Affected For 2 Weeks In Elmsford Road closures are set to affect a section of a busy main route in Westchester for two weeks, officials announced.  Between Monday, April 1, and Friday, April 12, Route 119 in Elmsford between Vreeland Avenue and Undercliff Avenue will close nightly, the New York State Department of Transportation announced. Officials added that the closure will be enforced between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night. The road closure will allow crews to conduct construction work.

The incident happened in Mount Vernon on Lorraine Avenue, where a male victim was found with multiple stab wounds, Mount Vernon city officials announced on Friday, March 29.  The man was taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.  A suspect was later taken into custody in connection with the stabbing. Rubbish Fire Ignites Near Railroad Yard In Croton-On-Hudson Firefighters responded to a Northern Westchester railroad yard after a blaze ignited in a rubbish pile. The incident happened on Wednesday, March 27 around 10 p.m., when Croton-on-Hudson Fire crews responded to a reported trash fire near the old Metro Enviro building on Croton Point Avenue near the Croton-Harmon railroad yard, according to the department.  Crews soon found a smoldering fire in some railroad ties and were able to extinguish it quickly, firefighters said.  The cause of the blaze was not released.
