These Byram Hills HS Students Named National Merit Scholarship Finalists Half a dozen high school seniors from Northern Westchester have been selected as finalists in a prestigious national program.  Six seniors from Byram Hills High School in Armonk have been named as finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program, the Byram Hills Central School District announced on Thursday, Feb. 15.  The six students are:  Cyrus Aly; Samara Brown; Aaron Lestz; Daniel Ndocaj; Alexander Woodworth; Yicheng Yang. Man Jailed For Selling Drugs That Caused Fatal Overdose In Yorktown, Police Say A 30-year-old man was hit with felony charges for allegedly selling drugs that caused a victim's fatal overdose in Northern Westchester, police announced. Yorktown resident Albert Tapia was arrested outside of his residence on Thursday, Feb. 15 in connection with a fatal overdose that occurred in October 2023, Yorktown Police announced.  According to the department, on Thursday, Oct. 26 around 3 p.m., Yorktown Police responded to a residence on East Main Street where the overdose happened. Alert Issued For Mount Vernon 15-Year-Old Girl Missing For Week Authorities in Westchester are asking for the public's help in finding a 15-year-old girl who has been missing for a week.  An alert for Elle Torres, who was last seen on Friday, Feb. 9, was issued by the Mount Vernon Police Department on Friday, Feb. 16.  Torres, who suffers from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, was last seen wearing a black coat, multicolored hoodie, blue jeans, and red, white, and black sneakers, police said.
