Firefighter, 2 Others Injured In Blaze At Larchmont Eatery A basement fire at a popular Westchester eatery resulted in three people being injured, including a firefighter who was hospitalized. The incident happened on Wednesday, Nov. 8 just after 10 a.m., when the Larchmont Fire Department responded to an active basement fire at Bagels by Sofia located at 145 Chatsworth Ave. According to the department, arriving crews found plenty of smoke pouring from the eatery and upon entering, discovered heavy flames in the basement. Road Closure: Part Of Central Westchester Parkway To Be Affected In North White Plains An upcoming road closure is set to shutter part of a busy parkway in Westchester. The southbound Central Westchester Parkway in North White Plains will close on Thursday, Nov. 9 between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., North Castle Police announced. The closure will allow crews to perform maintenance work. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes during the closure.

Election Day Results: Races In Harrison, North Castle Separated By Handful Of Votes Two races for top positions in two Westchester municipalities are now only separated by a handful of votes, including one matchup that was decided by a single vote. Blaze Damages 12-Story Vacant Building On Old Hospital Property In Port Chester Several fire departments had to race to an old hospital property in Westchester after a debris pile near a 12-story vacant building went up in flames. The incident happened on Tuesday, Nov. 7 around 3:30 p.m., when firefighters responded to the old United Hospital property in Port Chester in the area of Boston Post Road and High Street, where a debris pile behind a 12-story vacant residential building had ignited. Truck Careens Into Wooded Ditch In Somers A truck had to be towed from a roadside embankment after losing control and careening off a Northern Westchester road. The incident happened on Tuesday, Nov. 7 around 7:20 a.m., when the Somers Volunteer Fire Department responded to Van Rensselaer Road for a reported crash. According to the department, arriving crews confirmed that there were no injuries as a result of the crash. Units then worked for around two hours to remove the truck from the wooded embankment. The cause of the crash was not revealed by authorities.
