On The Rocks: Vessel Becomes Stuck In Long Island Sound Off Rye Coast A vessel found itself between a rock and a hard place after becoming stuck in Long Island Sound off the Westchester coast.  The incident happened on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 30, when a vessel became stuck on the Scotch Caps reef off the coast of Rye, according to Rye Police. Lane Closures To Affect Stretch Of Taconic State Parkway In Yorktown Motorists who regularly travel on the Taconic State Parkway in Northern Westchester are being warned of upcoming lane closures that will slow down traffic.  Two lanes of the southbound Taconic State Parkway in Yorktown between Exit 17B (Bear Mountain Parkway) and Exit 14 (Baldwin Road) are scheduled to close on Thursday, Aug. 31, the New York State Department of Transportation announced.  The closures will last between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and will facilitate guide rail repairs, officials said.
