Dumpster Fire Ignites, Threatens Barn In Pound Ridge A dumpster full of hay and other yard debris almost caused the destruction of a barn in Northern Westchester after it went up in flames. The incident happened on Tuesday, Aug. 15 just before noon, when firefighters from the Pound Ridge Volunteer Fire Department responded to a dumpster fire that had ignited close to a barn in the town, department members said on Saturday, Aug. 19. Seen Him? Man Goes Missing In Yonkers Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding a man from Westchester who has been missing for several days. Luis Machado, age 79, went missing from the area of 2 Father Finian Sullivan Dr. in Yonkers on Friday, Aug. 18, Yonkers Police announced on Monday, Aug. 21. Machado suffers from the early stages of dementia, police added. He is described as a Hispanic man who is 5 feet 7 inches tall and 120 pounds. Man Shot At Residence In Yonkers: Suspect At Large, Police Say Authorities have begun an investigation into a shooting incident that left a man injured at a residence in Westchester, police said. The incident happened on Monday, Aug. 21 just before 2 p.m., when Yonkers Police officers responded to a residence on West Delano Avenue after receiving a report that someone had been shot, according to Detective Sergeant Frank DiDomizio. 6 Hospitalized, Road Closed After Head-On Crash On Saw Mill River Parkway In Bedford A head-on collision in Northern Westchester caused a parkway to briefly close and hospitalized a total of six people, fire officials said. The incident happened on Saturday, Aug. 19 just before 7 p.m., when the Bedford Hills Fire Department responded to the Saw Mill River Parkway northbound at Exit 39 for a reported head-on crash.
