17-Year-Old Dies After Jumping From Bridge In Newtown A 17-year-old boy has died after being pulled from the water underneath a bridge in Fairfield County that he had jumped from, police said. The 17-year-old's death resulted from an incident that happened on Thursday, July 27 just before 2 p.m., when Newtown Police officers responded to the Silver Bridge on Glen Road near the Southbury town line after receiving a call for help. Man Caught With Ghost Gun Kits, Magazines In Westchester Gets Prison Time A 36-year-old Connecticut man who was caught with illegal weapon kits in Westchester County will spend several years in prison for trafficking a large number of ghost guns from his New Haven County home. Ansonia resident Melvin Burroughs, age 36, was sentenced to 58 months in prison on Thursday, July 27 for trafficking firearms, the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York announced. Lost Duo Rescued From Hiking Preserve In Armonk With Help Of Phone App Two hikers had to call for help after becoming lost in a Northern Westchester nature preserve for several hours.
