3.8 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Pennsylvania, Multiple Other States The US Geological Survey said a 3.8 magnitude earthquake shook much of the Northeast on Monday, Jan. 27. The quake occurred at 10:45 a.m. and was initially reported as a 4.1 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was located near York Harbor, approximately seven miles off the coast of Maine and about 13 miles underground. Richard Lovallo, 64, of Stamford, was arrested on Jan. 24, 2025, following an extensive investigation by the Norwalk Police Special Victims Unit. He faces two counts of risk of injury to a minor/impairing morals and two counts of harmful communication with a minor, according to authorities.
