Watch Howard Godwin Sleepy Hollow Holiday Basketball Tournament SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. -- The 24th Annual Howard Godwin Sleepy Hollow Holiday Basketball Tournament will be taking place at Sleepy Hollow High School in Tarrytown. The tournament will take place Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Teams from throughout the region compete in the tournament. Glen Rock, Mahwah Meet In Met Life Stadium In State Football Playoffs GLEN ROCK, N.J. -- Glen Rock will play Mahwah at Met Life Stadium in the state football playoffs. Top-seded Glen Rock (8-2) will take on No. 2 Mahwah (10-1) at 5 p.m. Friday. The game is the first time the two schools have played for the championship since 1992. Glen Rock defeated Mahwah for a sectional title in 1988. Mahwah coach Jeff Remo earned his 100th win this season and is looking to earn his first sectional title as head coach. Chinese American Organization Honors Greenburgh Senior At Leadership Gala GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Mei Ling Gilbert, a Woodlands High School senior in the Greenburgh Center School District, recently was one of a handful of students from the region to be recognized by the Westchester-Hudson Valley chapter of the Organization of Chinese Americans at its annual leadership awards gala and dinner.The dinner was at the Doubletree Hotel in Tarrytown. Wilton Man, 82, Drives Seven Hours To See 1,000-Pound Provolone Cheese WILTON, Conn. -- Anthony LoFrisco, an 82-year-old Wilton resident, drove seven hours to Ottawa, Canada, to see a 1,000-pound block of provolone cheese, according to the Ottawa Citizen.The provolone was imported by boat from northern Italy and was delivered by truck to Nicastro’s Italian Food Emporium, where it was unloaded by six men, the Ottawa Citizen said. LoFrisco, a retired lawyer with a lifelong passion for cooking, has not seen the heralded big cheese since his childhood, when it was a rare commodity during World War II, the report said.
