Oakland School Children Invited For Parade, Trunk-Or-Treat OAKLAND, N.J. -- Elementary school age children of Oakland will be treated to an annual Halloween parade on Saturday, Oct. 31.All children, toddlers to fifth graders, are invited to attend, and refreshments will be served.  Participants gather at 9:30 a.m. and start the parade at 10 a.m., by the Valley Middle School.  An appearance by the Amazing Steve Q (who does face painting and balloon art) is expected.  Please remember to bring a trick-or-treat bag. Beacon's Hudson Valley Brewery To Get $450,000 In State Funds BEACON, N.Y. -- Hudson Valley Brewery was one of three Hudson Valley groups that received money in State funds through Gov. Andrew Cuomo's plan to create and retain jobs across the state, according to a story on twcnews.com.It was recently awarded $450,000, which will go towards renovating a historic building in Beacon to accommodate a tasting room and brew system, twcnews.com said.
