She has a bachelor's degree in English from Stony Brook University and a Master's degree in publishing from Pace University. She married with four teenage children and is a competitive runner and avid exerciser.

Claremont Elementary School In Ossining Gets Paint Job OSSINING, N.Y. -- The Ossining Upper Elementary School PTA worked with parent volunteers and principal Kate Mathews to paint games and a basketball court at Claremont School this past weekend.The painting was done on the pavement by the new playground, which was added in the spring.  Several parents came out to help and the paint was donated by two local stores -- Wallauer and Sherwin Williams in Ossining and Briarcliff.  Parents, the school and the community worked together to upgrade the blacktop at the third- and fourth-grade Ossining School.
