Norwalk River Valley Trail Opens New Section On Wilton Loop NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk River Valley Trail 's newest section of trail is now open to the public. The section, part of the east-side “Wilton Loop”, runs a half-mile north from Sharp Hill Road to near Twin Oak Lane.  It begins as a level, mostly shaded path through mixed woodland and crumbling stone walls.  There is a dirt side-trail leading to Parish Road, and a rough rock bench put together by trail builders.  The trail then descends to cross an intermittent brook, ending soon after at the edge of wetlands. Gordon Thorne, 64, Of Mount Pleasant MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- Gordon Thorne, of Mount Pleasant, died Sept.19, at the age of 64.He was predeceased by his father Frank Thorne and sister Barbara Grant.  He is survived by his mother Eliza Thorne.  He leaves to mourn his companion Joy (Pilgram); children Tamara (Eric), Deleena (David), Paul (Chanda) and Tyler; seven grandchildren; sisters Shirley, Carol, Valerie (Bob); and brothers Cec (Linda), David (Judy), Harold (Sharon) and Rick (Mary).  Gordon served in the the military with the rank of warrant officer.
