Man Gets 40 Years For Stabbing Paterson Girlfriend
PATERSON, N.J. -- A city man who admitted stabbing his girlfriend to death was sentenced Wednesday to 40 years in prison, NorthJersey.com reported.
Kerry Richardson, 26, who pleaded guilty to murder and violating a restraining order, will have to serve at least 34 years before he can be paroled, the story said.

Northern Highlands, Union Agree To Three-Year Contract
ALLENDALE, N.J. -- The Board of Education and the Northern Highlands Education Association have agreed to a new, three-year contract with raises of 2.8 percent a year, NorthJersey.com reported.
The contract has been finalized by both the board and the union, the story said.
The increase includes cost-of-living adjustments and compensation for experience, the story said. In 2015-16, a starting teacher with a bachelor’s degree will make $53,398, a reduction of about $300 from the prior agreement, but that figure increases to $56,000 in 2017-18, the story said.
