Poughkeepsie Man Charged With Choking Family Member POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- New York State Police arrested Jerun Allen, 41, of Poughkeepsie, for alleged strangulation in the second degree. On Nov. 7, state troopers were dispatched by Dutchess County 911 to respond to a physical domestic dispute in the Town of Wappinger. Allen allegedly choked a family member to the point of unconsciousness and fled before police arrived at the scene.  An investigation revealed Allen was scheduled to appear in East Fishkill Court for an unrelated incident on Nov, 19. Fairfield Police Release Video Of Purse Snatching At Whole Foods FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield police have released a video of a purse-snatching incident that occurred at Whole Foods on Nov. 17.  At about 12:50 p.m., a customer left her wallet in her purse at the top of her shopping cart, and a male shopper grabbed her wallet while her back was turned, the video shows. The incident was captured on the store's close-circuit security cameras.   The thief appears to be a white or Latino male wearing a white baseball cap, black jacket and black jeans, police said. High School Junior Brianna Marangiello Crowned Westchester Teen Idol MONTROSE, N.Y. -- Hendrick Hudson High School junior Brianna Marangiello won first place in the Westchester Teen Idol Competition on Nov. 14.  "Brianna is exceptionally talented and I am not surprised at all that she won Westchester Teen Idol," said Erica Denler, Brianna's chorus teacher.  Hundreds of students auditioned to compete, and 25 finalists were selected, including four other students at Hendrick Hudson: senior Noelle Carlson, junior Brianna Donahue and eighth-graders Avery Avellino and Katie Ciulla.
