John J. Boland, Of Darien, World War II Veteran
DARIEN, Conn. -- John J. Boland, resident of Darien and former resident of Rowayton, died on May 30, 2015. He was 90 years old.
He was born on Dec. 6, 1924, in Jersey City to John J. and Mary P. Boland. He received a bachelor’s degree from Seton Hall University in South Orange, N.J.
He was in the U.S. Navy as a signalman second class in World War II, serving from June 1, 1943 to April, 14, 1946 on the USS Melucta in the Pacific.
He had a career in rental management and commercial real estate development.

NORWALK, Conn. -- Francis “Frank” Joseph Sullivan, 75, of Norwalk, died at his home on Monday, June 1.
He was born on Oct. 15, 1939, in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was the son of Francis and Katherine Fitzgerald Sullivan. Sullivan worked many years in commercial real estate in New York City.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Debra, and five children, Maryellen, Richard, John, Kerry and Erin; and 12 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, at United Church of Rowayton, 210 Rowayton Ave. in Norwalk.

Otto O. Weibel, Longtime Westport Resident, 91
WESTPORT, Conn. -- Otto O. Weibel of Westport, died on Monday, June 1, at Norwalk Hospital. He was 91.
Weibel was born in Dietikon, Switzerland on Aug. 20, 1923 and was the son of Robert and Sophie Weibel. He was a resident of Westport for the past 49 years.
He was a volunteer for The American Cancer Society’s “Road To Recovery Program,” and a member of The Westport Wise Men. When he first came to the United States in 1947, he became a lifetime member of the NYC Mannerchor and Swiss-American Club.

Jeanne S. Loughlin, 91, Of Stamford, Former Elementary School Teacher
STAMFORD, Conn. -- Jeanne S. Loughlin, formerly of Stamford, died on Friday, May 29, in Severn, Md. She was 91 years old.
She was born in Stamford on Feb. 21, 1924, to James and Elizabeth Smith. Loughlin attended Julia A. Stark Elementary School and graduated from Stamford High School with the class of 1942.
She went on to attend West Haven State Teacher's College and graduated with the class of 1946. Following her graduation, she taught kindergarten at Franklin Elementary School and, later, fourth- and fifth-grades at Julia A. Stark School.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- A record-breaking crowd of more than 200 friends, donors, and healthcare partners, contributed close to $125,000 to Visiting Nurse Services Westchester (VNSW) at its 17th annual benefit gala on May 12 at the Willow Ridge Country Club in Harrison.
The annual event is critical in helping the nonprofit agency to fulfill its mission, as many of the services it provides are not reimbursable by government or other sources.
