Haldane HS Girls Volleyball Finishes Second In State COLD SPRING, N.Y. – The Haldane High School girls volleyball team finished second in the state Class D tournament, dropping a five-set match to Portville in the state championship, held on Nov. 22 in Glens Falls. The Blue Devils dropped the last two sets to Portville after taking a 2-1 lead in sets. The Panthers won the match 3-2 (17-25, 25-18, 32-34, 25-18, 26-24). It was the second time the teams had met in the state tourney, as Portville upset Haldane in a two-set match (25-18, 26-24) in the Class D round-robin on Nov. 21.

Lourdes High School Football Team Plays For State Title DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. – The Our Lady of Lourdes football team will go for their first-ever state title on Friday afternoon in Syracuse against Buffalo's South Park High School, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. The team is the first from Dutchess County to play for a state football title in 18 years. Lourdes upset higher-ranked opponents to get to the final, even winning the sectional final on an overtime touchdown after blocking two kicks, reported the Poughkeepsie Journal. Fairfield Prep Squires Club Collects Goods For Thanksgiving Food Drive FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Members of Fairfield Prep's Squires Club collected food this week for Action for Bridgeport Community Development during its annual food drive. The club filled two transport vans with food with hundreds of bags for ABCD to make sure 2,000 local families will get Thanksgiving dinner. Dutchess Man Charged With Raping Unconscious Woman DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. – A Dutchess County man was arrested by state police Tuesday on charges he raped an unconscious woman while at his home earlier this month. Christopher Talbot of Pine Plains, 23, was charged with first-degree rape and first-degree sexual abuse, both felonies, after an investigation found that he performed a sexual act and had intercourse with the woman. Talbot was arraigned in LaGrange Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail on $10,000 bail. His next court appearance will be on Nov. 30 in Pine Plains Court.
