Two Injured In Motorcycle-Car Crash In Montague Township: Njsp Two people were injured when a motorcycle collided with a passenger vehicle in Sussex County on the morning of Thursday, Aug. 15, authorities said. At 11:41 a.m., the crash between a Honda motorcycle and a Hyundai passenger vehicle occurred on Deckertown Turnpike between Clove Road and River Road in Montague Township, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Both drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and the crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

Shots Fired In Newark, Two Firearms Recovered: Police Gunshots were fired in Newark on the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 14, authorities said. At 8:21 p.m., police responded to the 100 block of Clifton Avenue on a report of shots fired, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. While police did not locate any victims, they did recover two firearms in the immediate area, Fragé said. This incident remains under investigation, Fragé said.

Murphy Waives NJ Transit Fares: Here's What To Know Want to take NJ Transit for free? Now is your chance. Gov. Phil Murphy announced a transit fare holiday for all customers from Monday, Aug. 26 through Monday, Sept. 2. During this period, fares will be waived for all modes of transportation. Ex-Cop Gets 15 Years For Double-Fatal Off Duty DWI Wreck: Somerset County Prosecutor A 30-year-old former police officer and Somerset resident was sentenced to 15 years in prison on Wednesday, Aug. 14 in connection with a fatal crash he caused that killed two people while he was off-duty last summer, authorities said. Man Found Dead In Hoboken Park: Prosecutor A man was found dead in Maxwell Place Park on the morning of Thursday, Aug. 15, authorities said. The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said they were investigating, along with the Hoboken Police Department. The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, authorities said. Maxwell Place Park was temporarily closed due to the investigation, a spokeswoman for the City of Hoboken said.

Man Robbed Of Phone At Gunpoint: Newark PD A man was robbed of his cell phone at gunpoint in Newark on the evening of Friday, Aug. 9, authorities said. At 10 p.m., a man exited a business on the 200 block of Lyons Avenue when he was surrounded by a group of men who had been inside, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Malfunctioning Battery Causes Scooter Fire: Roxbury FD A malfunctioning lithium ion battery led to a scooter fire in Roxbury Township on the evening of Tuesday, Aug. 13, authorities said. At 9 p.m., firefighters responded to the 200 block of Center Street in Port Morris on a report of smoke coming from a basement, Roxbury Fire and First Aid Company 2 said. Gov. Murphy Appointing Jersey City Native To Senate Seat: Report George Helmy is expected to be named New Jersey's next senator, replacing Sen. Bob Menendez, D-NJ, Politico reported. Gov. Cement Truck Overturns On Route 287: Njsp A cement truck overturned following a crash on Route 287 in Morris County on the early morning of Wednesday, Aug. 14, authorities said. At 2:07 a.m., a cement truck collided with a passenger vehicle on Route 287 north in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.
