She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. SNAP Fraud: 2 Nabbed In Region For Abusing System, Officials Say Two women from the region have been charged with larceny after allegedly receiving money from social services. Sullivan County resident Adrienne McCord, age 32, of Monticello, was arrested on Saturday, June 3, and charged with felony grand larceny. It is alleged that McCord stole $3,496 in SNAP benefits from the Sullivan County Department of Social Services by failing to disclose income in her household. Woman On Way To Post Office Violently Carjacked In CT With Gun To Her Head By 3 Men, Police Say A Connecticut woman on her way to the post office was violently carjacked when the suspect's bumped her car from behind. The incident took place in Hartford County around 10 p.m., Thursday, July 13, in Windsor Locks. According to Lt. Paul Cherniack of the Windsor Locks Police, the victim was on her way to the post office in her 2020 Infinity QX80 at the intersection of Route 75 and Schoephoester Road when she was bumped from behind by possibly a blue Acura sedan. 18-Year-Old Killed By Hit-Run Driver In Hudson Valley This story has been updated. An 18-year-old Hudson Valley teen was killed by a hit-and-run driver who later turned himself in to police. Rockland County resident Dariel Rivera, of Central Nyack, was killed around 3:50 a.m., Friday, July 14, on Route 303 in West Nyack. According to Det. Norm Peters of the Clarkstown Police, officers found Rivera after police received reports of a person lying in the roadway. Fatal Fire: 1 Dead, 1 Critically Injured In Bridgeport One person was killed and another is in critical condition following a fire at a Fairfield County apartment. The fire took place in Bridgeport around 4:20 a.m., Friday, July 14 in the 400 block of Success Ave., Building 43. When Bridgeport firefighters arrived on the scene they found heavy smoke and fire on the first and second floors of the apartment, said Scott Appleby, director of emergency management for Bridgeport. Seen Her? 15-Year-Old Hudson Valley Girl Reported Missing New York State Police is asking the public for help locating a missing Hudson Valley 15-year-old girl who hasn't been seen since Wednesday, July 12. $3K Reward: Puppy Found Dead In Milk Crate In CT Police and animal control officials are investigating and offering a reward after a puppy was found shot dead in a milk crate in Connecticut. The puppy was discovered in New Haven County around 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, in the hamlet of Fair Haven, said Capt. Rose Dell, of the New Haven Police.
