Stamford Delays Fireworks Display Due To Smoke From Wildfires Due to poor air quality and visibility conditions from continuing wildfires in Canada, the city of Stamford will postpone its Independence Day firework display. The fireworks were set to be showcased on Friday, June 30 at 6 p.m. at Cummings Beach. “We want to host the best Independence Day fireworks show possible,” said Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons. “Because of air quality concerns, as well as the fact that the visibility of tonight’s show would be compromised, we’ve decided to take advantage of our negotiated rain date and postpone the fireworks until next week.” The fireworks will now…

Long Island Woman Steals $4K From Residents Where She Was Employed, Police Say A Long Island woman has been charged with grand larceny after allegedly stealing funds from resident's accounts where she was employed. Nassau County resident Ashley Atkinson, age 22, of Freeport, was arrested on Thursday, June 29 for grand larceny in North Bellmore. New Update - Body ID: Stamford Man Found Floating In Norwalk Harbor Police have identified a man whose body was found floating by a boater. Christian Bernadel, age 26, of Stamford, was found in Norwalk Harbor around 9:40 a.m., Tuesday, June 27, after police received a report from a boater, said Lt. Joe Dinho, of the Norwalk Poice. Bobcat Attacks Man Sleeping In Hammock At CT State Park A bobcat attacked an adult camper at a Connecticut state park. The attack took place during the early morning hours of Friday, June 30 in New London County at Selden Neck Island in Selden Neck State Park in Lyme. Person Jumps From Bear Mountain Bridge New Update: Teen ID'd As Person Who Jumped From Bear Mountain Bridge A person has jumped from a Hudson Valley bridge and divers are working to retrieve the body. Homicide: Man Who Crashed Into CT Restaurant Was Shot To Death, Police Say Police investigating a report of shots fired found a man shot to death inside a car that had crashed into a Connecticut restaurant. The incident occurred in New Haven County around 2 a.m., Friday, June 30 at 807 North Main St., at the Ingprica Bar and Restaurant in Waterbury. According to Lt. Ryan Bessette, of the Waterbury Police, responding officers found that a vehicle had crashed into the restaurant and found an unidentified man inside the vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. Teen Sex Assault: Child Victim Of Danbury 19-Year-Old, Police Say A Fairfield County man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl twice at a high school in 2021. Tyrique Scott, age 19, of Danbury, was arrested on Tuesday, June 27, on sexual assault charges that took place at J.M. Wright Technical High School in Stamford.
