Man Injured In Fight Outside Stop & Shop In Trumbull Two men outside a supermarket store were arrested after allegedly getting into a fight and causing a disturbance. The incident took place in Fairfield County at the Stop & Shop on Quality Street in Trumbull on Friday, Jan. 20. Robert Zacchia, age 55, of Trumbull, and Emmanuel Andriotis, age 19, of Bridgeport were both arrested and charged for their involvement in the incident, said Lt. Brian Weir of the Trumbull Police. Police Asking For Witnesses To Fatal Crash In Litchfield County State police are asking witnesses to a single-car crash that killed a Terryville man on Route 8 in Watertown to come forward. The crash took place in Litchfield County around 1 p.m., Monday, Jan. 23 on Route 8 south of the Exit 38 on-ramp in Watertown. According to state police, John Wujcik, age 50, of Terryville, was driving a Jeep Wrangler southbound on Route 8 when it veered off the right side of the roadway and crashed into the rock ledge embankment. $50K Powerball Ticket Sold In Hudson Valley It's not just another day for one lucky Hudson Valley Powerball player who walked away with a $50,000 third prize. A New York Lottery spokesman said five tickets won the third-place prize including one in Orange County in Newburgh. The winning numbers for the Wednesday, Jan. 18 Powerball are 6-15-22-42-47 and the Powerball is 26. Man Nabbed For Attempted Murder During Lynbrook Altercation A 36-year-old man was arrested for attempted murder for allegedly shooting another man during an altercation in a car on Long Island. The incident took place in Lynbrook around 1 a.m., on Monday, Dec. 19, 2022, on Merrick Road. According to Nassau County Police detectives, Vincent T. Lynch, of Jamaica, Queens, and the male victim, age 27, were passengers sitting in a gray-colored 2004 BMW sedan parked in front of 710 Merrick Road when a physical altercation ensued. 22-Year-Old Driving Drunk Crashes Into Tree In Hudson Valley, Police Say A 22-year-old area man is in serious condition after losing control of his car and crashing into a tree while allegedly driving drunk. The incident occurred in Ulster County around 4:15 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22 in Saugerties on the Glasco Turnpike. Road Rage: Woman Beats Man's Car With Bat, Steals Cell Phone In Hudson Valley, Police Say A 30-year-old Hudson Valley woman was arrested following an alleged road rage incident in which she beat a man's car with a bat and then stole his cell phone as he tried to call the police, authorities said. Man Fires Gun At Teen After Catching Him In His Car In New Haven, Police Say A New Haven man who works as a school security guard has been arrested for allegedly firing a gun at a 14-year-old after catching two juveniles in his vehicle. The incident took place in New Haven around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22 on Hallock Avenue. 30 Catalytic Converters Stolen From East Hartford School Buses More than 30 catalytic converters were stolen from school buses from two businesses in East Hartford. The converters were stolen between Friday, Jan. 20, and Monday, Jan. 23 from First Student at 68 Alna Lane and Autumn Transportation at 52 Oakland Ave. in East Hartford. According to East Hartford Police Officer Marc Caruso, the two business reported the thefts of the catalytic converters from their lots. Mother Sneaks Into Hudson Valley HS Dressed As Student To Watch Daughter Fight, Police Say The mother of a high school student in the region has been arrested for allegedly sneaking into the school dressed as a student so she could watch her daughter fight with another student.
