The incident took place in Columbia County around 11:20 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24 in the city of Hudson, on the 200 block of Long Alley. According to Hudson Police Chief Edward Moore, the victim, whose identity has not been released, was standing behind the truck directing the dumpster to be dumped when it became dislodged from a wench and cable system used to help lift the box and fell on top of the employee. Person Struck By Lirr Train In Pinelawn, Service Delayed Train service on the Long Island Rail Road has been suspended on one line after a person on the tracks was hit by a train. The incident took place near Pinelawn around 8:15 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 25. Due to the accident, service has been suspended in both directions between Farmingdale and Ronkonkoma, said MTA on Twitter. Dutchess County resident Shawn W. Phillips, age 40, of the town of Red Hook, was apprehended on Friday, Oct. 21, by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force. Hudson Valley Man Accused Of Embezzling Nearly $100K From Soccer Club Following a six-month investigation, a Hudson Valley man has been charged with allegedly embezzling some $100,000 from a soccer club. According to the Ramapo Police, a 35-year-old Hillburn resident was charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. The department said the charges allege that between 2020 and 2022, the man embezzled more than $95,000 from the Ramapo Valley Soccer Club. The person charged was not named by the Ramapo Police Department. He was arraigned and released without bail and is scheduled to appear in court in November.
