She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Suspect At Large After Strong-Arm Robbery Of Woman At Darien Residence Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly followed a woman home from a bank and stole a bag of cash off her lap after she pulled into her garage in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Darien around 3:20 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13 at a Maywood Road home. According to Sgt. Dan Skoumbros of the Darien Police, when officers responded to the home, the victim reported that shortly after pulling into her garage a man grabbed her bag off her lap when she opened her car door. 5-Year-Old Falls From Second-Story Window In Hampton Bays Police on Long Island are investigating after a 5-year-old child fell from a second-story window. The incident took place in Hampton Bays around 5:55 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 13. Police received a 911 call reporting the event and officers responded to the home along with Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance, according to Lt. Susan Ralph of the Southampton Police. Man, 17-Year-Old Girl Accused Of Stealing $600 Worth Of Items From New Canaan CVS A man and a 17-year-old girl have been charged with allegedly stealing $600 worth of merchandise from a Fairfield County CVS store. The incident took place in New Canaan around 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13 at the store at 94 Park St. According to Lt. Jason Ferraro of the Canaan Police, store officials reported several individuals had taken a total of $600 worth of goods. Police Officers Hailed As Heroes For Reviving Long Island Woman Two Long Island police officers are being honored for helping to save a woman in medical distress. The incident took place in Holtsville around 5:50 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13. According to the Suffolk County Police, Officers Frederick Reed and Stacey Byrnes along with the Holbrook Fire Department provided life-saving aid to a woman in medical distress in Holbrook. Reed and Byrnes responded to a 911 call from a 60-year-old woman suffering from cardiac arrest at her residence on Mews Court, police said. CT Man Who Killed 2 Responding Officers Was Divorced Father Described As 'Rowdy' Neighbors of the man accused of placing an alleged fake 911 call to ambush and kill two Connecticut police officers was known as "rowdy" and "always drinking," according to the Daily Mail. Nicholas Brutcher, age 35, a divorced father of two in Hartford County, allegedly fired on the officers in Bristol before being killed. Mother Shot On Porch Of Home In Hudson Valley Near Young Child Detectives are investigating after a mother was shot on the front porch of her Hudson Valley home in what's called a safe area. The incident took place in Ulster County around 9:50 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6 in the hamlet of Port Ewen. Closure Scheduled For Route 9W In Orangetown The state Department of Transportation is advising motorists to expect Route 9W to close in both directions this weekend. Surviving Officer Shot In Double-Fatal CT Incident Graduated From Yorktown HS The surviving Connecticut police officer injured while responding to a call that killed two of his fellow officers is a native New Yorker who graduated from high school in Northern Westchester. Alec Iurato, age 26, now a resident of Bristol in Hartford County, graduated from Yorktown High School in 2014.
