Man Broke Into Convenience Store, Stole Cigarettes, Lotto Tickets: Newark PD A man is at large after he broke into a convenience store in Newark and stole cash and other items on Friday, Sept. 13, authorities said. At 3 a.m., the suspect broke into Downneck Convenience Store on Pacific Street, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The suspect was captured on surveillance video smashing the front glass door with a rock, Fragé said. Once inside, he took money from the cash register, several lottery scratch-off tickets, and multiple boxes of cigarettes, Fragé said. Anyone with information is asked to call (1-877-695-8477.

Motorcyclist Airlifted Following Route 46 Crash: Njsp A motorcyclist had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital after he crashed on Route 46 in Warren County on Wednesday, Sept. 18, authorities said. At 6:15 p.m., a Kawasaki motorcycle traveling westbound on Route 46 in Liberty Township lost control and veered off the right side of the road, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

Joseph Palumbo Jr., a Columbia resident, carried out the illegal manufacture and sale of ghost guns between December 2023 and February 2024, Acting Morris County Prosecutor Maggie Calderwood said. Man Fatally Shot In Newark: Prosecutor A man was fatally shot in the West Ward of Newark on the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 18, authorities said.Police in Newark responded to the 300 block of South 7th Street and found the victim dead from a gunshot wound, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.
