Road Closure: Crash Shuts Down Part Of Busy Route In Hudson Valley A crash has caused part of a busy Hudson Valley roadway to shut down to traffic. Part of Route 52 in Putnam County between Route 6 and Vink Drive in the town of Carmel is currently closed, according to reports. Mount Vernon Let Raw Sewage Flow In Sewer System, Discharge Into Rivers: Feds A city in Westchester will have to take action after failing to comply with environmental requirements and allowing raw sewage to enter sewers, causing it to be discharged into nearby rivers, federal officials said. White Plains HS Grad Returns To US After Years-Long Imprisonment In Iran A man who graduated from a high school in Westchester has been returned to American soil after being detained in Iran for almost eight years. Siamak Namazi, who once lived in Westchester, was returned home to the US along with four other American citizens on Monday, Sept. 18, President Joe Biden announced. Man Caught With Crack Cocaine During Traffic Stop In Mount Vernon: Police A 32-year-old man faces drug charges after he was caught with several grams of crack cocaine during a traffic stop in Westchester, police said. The arrest resulted from an incident on Thursday, Sept. 7, when New York State Police troopers pulled over a 2022 Kia sedan on Union Avenue in Mount Vernon after it was seen violating vehicle and traffic laws, authorities said.
