Torrential Downpours Cause Closures On Busy Roads, Parkways In Yonkers, Rest Of Westchester Overnight flooding caused by torrential downpours resulted in numerous closures across Westchester, including busy parkways that had to be partially shut down. Many of the closures happened on Sunday night, April 30 as up to 2 inches of rain fell across Westchester as a result of a potent system that brought torrential rainfall and was accompanied by thunderstorms. Police have determined the identity of a man who was fatally struck by a car while walking on a busy road in Connecticut. The incident happened in Middlesex County on Sunday, April 30 around 3:45 p.m. on Route 9 in Middletown in the area of Exit 10, according to Connecticut State Police. 14-Year-Old Shot After Suspects Fire Into Crowd In Yonkers, Police Say Officers had to apply a tourniquet to an injured 14-year-old after two suspects approached a crowd in Westchester and fired several shots into it, police said.
