Harry Potter Fans Invited For Night Of Fun In Paramus
PARAMUS, N.J. -- Wizards and muggles alike can relive the magic of Harry Potter at a special event Friday at the South Paramus Barnes & Noble. Activities include a coloring station for sending an exclusive Owl Post postcard, trivia and the assembly of a Wrebbit 3D Hogwart's Astronomy Tower. Special themed treats also will be available. The magic begins at 7 p.m. Barnes & Noble is at 765 Route 17.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- People's United Bank and the Fairfield Police Department will partner to host a Home Safety Fair at Fairfield Museum Wedensday, June 22. The fair will cover the following: Target-harden your home Prevent home owner scams Emergency preparedness kits Home safety tips Light refreshments will be served. The Fairfield Museum is at 370 Beach Road. The fair is from 6-8 p.m.

Mount Kisco Library Hosting 'Move Your Mind Mondays'
MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- The Mount Kisco Public Library will host Move Your Mind Mondays from June 20 through Aug. 1. Each event in the six-week series will feature a different activity: June 20: Optical Illusions, students entering fifth grade and above June 27: DIY Board Game, students entering third grande and up July 11: Balloon Rockets, all ages July 18 Indian Bead Loom, fifth grade and up July 25 Optical Illusions, Part 2, school age and up Aug. 1: Spuddy Buddies, school age children Registration is required for each individual date by calling 914-864-0130. Rockland County Executive Day Opposes Water Rate Increase
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Rockland County Executive Ed Day recently expressed his outrage regarding a request from Suez New York to raise water rates by more than 18 percent. "An 18.7 percent rate hike is an unconscionable request," Day said. Day added his voice of discontent at a public hearing Thursday at Rockland Community College. Suez New York is asking the state's Public Service Commission to require Rockland rate payers to reimburse the company $54 million for the costs of the planned desalination plant in Haverstraw that was never built. Support Connection Announces Annual Cancer Walk
YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Support Connection's 2016 Annual Support-A-Walk will take place at Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park on Sunday, Oct. 2. Proceeds will provide funding for breast and ovarian cancer support services. More than 9,000 people participated in the 3-mile walk in 2015. Volunteers greet and welcome cancer survivors at the Survivor's Welcome Area. Local bands, cheerleaders and other community groups encourage and cheer walkers along the path.
