Irvington High School Boasts Four State Champion Scholar-Athlete Teams IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- Out of 10 teams across the state of New York selected this fall as the top scholar-athlete teams, four were from Irvington High School. The boys cross-country, boys soccer, girls field hockey and girls cross-country teams were named State Champion Scholar-Athlete Teams by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association.  Varsity teams earned the state champion title by having their members each maintain a GPA of 90 or higher. Ossining Police Department Promotes One, Hires Three OSSINING, N.Y. -- Officer Andrew Maiorana of the Ossining Police Department was promoted to sergeant. Three new officers were hired: Two are officers Jose Cosme and Ryan Tompkins. They are headed for 16 weeks at the Westchester County Police Academy starting Monday.  The third is Officer Jason DaSilva, who was previously employed with the NYPD so he will go directly to in-service training.
