Westlake High Students Grant Girl In Need Her Wish, Make Cards THORNWOOD, N.Y. -- Nearly 50 students from Westlake High School in Thornwood, members of the school's service and art clubs, spent an afternoon creating handmade cards for an 8-year-old girl named Safyre. Safyre lives in Upstate New York and lost her parents and three siblings in a house fire two years ago. She sustained severe, disfiguring burns over 70 percent of her body.  This Christmas, all she asked for was for people to send Christmas cards to her so she can fill up her card tree.  Club President Emma Sheehan, who is also a member of the school’s art club, brought Safyre’s request to…

He was 80. He was born June 14, 1935, in Stamford, the only child of Natale and Anna Magnoli.  His mother died and from the time he was an infant, he was raised by Anna's sister, Natalie Mardi. He was a lifelong resident of Stamford and was raised in the tight-knit community of the south end.
