She has a bachelor's degree in English from Stony Brook University and a Master's degree in publishing from Pace University. She married with four teenage children and is a competitive runner and avid exerciser.

Ridgefield Park Gives Out Batteries For Smoke, Carbon Monoxide Detectors RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J. -- The Village of Ridgefield Park Emergency Management Office is giving out free batteries to residents for smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. From from 8:30 a.m. to noon, Tuesday through Thursday (or until supplies run out) the Office of Emergency Management and the village Bureau of Fire Prevention will give out free 9 volt batteries for the detectors. The free batteries are only available to village residents. Residents can pick up the batteries at the Emergency Management office, at 50 Main St. There is a limit of two per household.

Stony Point Police Join Nypd At Funeral Of Joseph Lemm STONY POINT, N.Y. -- The Stony Point Police Department joined the New York Police Department at St Patrick's Cathedral on Wednesday at the funeral Mass for Detective Joseph Lemm. Lemm was a member of the New York Air National Guard and a member of the New York City Police Department for 15 years. Lemm, Louis Bonocasa, Chester McBride, Michael Cinco, Adrianna Vorderbruggen, and Peter Taub were killed by a suicide bomber in a village near Bagram Air Base Afghanistan on Dec. 21. Judge Overturns Award For Couple Injured In Crash With Rye Cop RYE, N.Y. -- A state Supreme Court judge overturned an arbitrator's decision to award $650,000 to a Dutchess County couple who were injured in a car accident with a Rye police officer more than three years ago, according to a story on lohud.com.According to the original lawsuit, Detective Joseph Verille was traveling north in an unmarked police vehicle on Interstate 684 near Exit 8 in North Salem on April 19, 2012, when his car struck Louis Jeanette’s car in the rear. New Rochelle Club Members Win First Prize In PSA Contest NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Two New Rochelle High School students from the Zonta Club who were participating in Girls Inc. ("Inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold") teamed up with the Young Filmmakers Club to produce a video that won first prize in the public service announcement contest. The "Hands are for Holding" video contest focused on bringing awareness to teen dating violence. The competition was open to Westchester County residents in grades 9-12. The overarching goal of the Zonta International Club is to empower women.
