She has a bachelor's degree in English from Stony Brook University and a Master's degree in publishing from Pace University. She married with four teenage children and is a competitive runner and avid exerciser.

Suffern Poetry Stages January Poetry Slam In Nyack SUFFERN, N.Y. -- Suffern Poetry holds a poetry slam in Nyack the first Saturday of each month; the next meeting will be in January at Casa del Sol in Nyack.It will take place Saturday, Jan. 2, from 6:30-9 p.m., at Casa del Sol, 104 Main St., Nyack. A poetry slam is a performance poetry competition judged by arbitrarily selected audience members. State Regents Recommend Delay In Counting Common Core The state Board of Regents has recommended that students and teachers not be held responsible for the results of the Common Core tests until the 2019-20 school year, according to a story on lohud.com.A board committee voted Monday on a series of recommendations from its panel reviewing the standardized tests and how they are used to grade the performance of students and teachers. The committee consists of the full board, so it will officially be approved by the entire board Tuesday, lohud.com said. Westchester High Schools Rank Among Best For Sports WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY. -- Four Westchester high schools rank among the best for sports in New York: Rye, Bronxville, Hastings and Yorktown.The rankings are from Niche, which offers rankings and statistics on every neighborhood and city in the U.S. to help people find the best places to live, visit and raise a family. Stony Point Police Department Announces North Rockland Youth Court Session STONY POINT, N.Y. -- The Stony Point Police Department has announced that the North Rockland Youth Court session will be at the Haverstraw Town Court this week.It will take place Thursday, Dec. 17, from 7-8 p.m., at the Haverstraw Town Court, 1 Rosman Road, Garnerville.
