Ringwood Students Give Thanks For Homework-Free Weekend RINGWOOD, N.J. -- Hoping to de-stree students -- and their families -- Ringwood schools are piloting a post-Thanksgiving “Wellness Weekend” beginning with early dismissal on Wednesday and extending through SUnday. That means no homework -- and no assessments when students return on Monday. This practice, currently in place in districts throughout the nation, recognizes the need for students and their families to decompress from everyday stress and have the opportunity to enjoy time together. The travel alert urges caution for any Americans traveling abroad, coming in the wake of a terrorist attack in Paris on Nov. 13 that killed 130 people, Time.com reported. Sandy Hook Man Charged With Driving Drunk In Monroe MONROE, Conn. — A Sandy Hook man was charged with driving drunk Sunday evening in Monroe after he was was spotted crossing the center line into oncoming traffic on Route 25, police told the Connecticut Post.Monroe police said Marc Escarilla, 39, of Skidmore Lane, failed standardized field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest, The Connecticut Post said.
