Walmart Pulls Back On Black Friday Walmart is remaking Black Friday by eliminating doorbusters as part of a strategy to make holiday shopping easier for customers, according to reports. The retailer will once again open its doors at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving, it announced Thursday on its website, but it won't be rolling out hourly deals on different items. Ox Ridge Elementary School In Darien Honors Veterans In Celebration DARIEN, Conn. -- Ox Ridge Elementary School in Darien honored veterans during a ceremony on Friday. It is the 19th year that Ox Ridge has held this celebration. The tradition started in 1996 with three veterans going to the kindergarten class of Rita Ferri, who is now principal of Hindley School. Nineteen years later it has grown into a program almost 10 times its original size.  This year, 28 veterans were in attendance, their service ranging from World War II to the War on Terror (Iraq and Afghanistan). Norwalk Teen Charged With Robbing Stamford Boy STAMFORD, Conn. — A Norwalk teen allegedly stole $169 from a Stamford boy who was waiting outside a Bedford Street shoe store in Stamford to buy a newly released sneaker, according to the Stamford Advocate.
