Sandra Diamond Fox has been a journalist since 2005, working for The News-Times and The Redding Pilot prior to coming to the Daily Voice. She has a bachelor's degree in English from Stony Brook University and a Master's degree in publishing from Pace University. She married with four teenage children and is a competitive runner and avid exerciser.

Rotary Club Of Tarrytowns Honors 94-Year-old WWII Veteran At Luncheon TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- The Rotary Club of the Tarrytowns celebrated Veterans Day with special guest speaker, Chick Galella, who attended the club's weekly meeting to recognize Veterans Day and all who have served the country.Galella left his hospital bed to attend the meeting and speak. A Pearl Harbor survivor, he is committed to sharing the stories of his fellow veterans. He passionately reminds people of the importance of honoring veterans and the simple ways they can do this in their daily lives. New Fairfield Girl Scouts Take Part In 'Cookies For Heroes' Project FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- From Oct. 31 through Nov. 8, Girl Scouts across the state were at polling stations and other communal areas selling Girl Scout cookies. Many of the booths also offered customers the opportunity to participate in Girl Scouts of Connecticut’s Gift of Caring project, "Cookies for Heroes." Ian Anderson Performs Opera On Jethro Tull At Capitol Theater, Port Chester PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Ian Anderson performed a rock opera that tells the story of Jethro Tull at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester on Nov. 10. Ian Anderson, known throughout the world of rock music as the flute and voice behind the legendary Jethro Tull, has been a recording and performing musician for 47 years. Teens Celebrate Hispanic Heritage With Stratford Library Contest STRATFORD, Conn. -- The Stratford Library Teen Department celebrated “National Hispanic Heritage Month” recently with its annual Hispanic Heritage Essay & Art Contest. Teen Department Head Lucretia Duwel reports that a total of 105 submissions came from students in grades 6-8 in Stratford public and private schools who took part in the contest. A total of 94 essays, three poems and eight pieces of artwork were submitted. Tompkins Elementary School Students Learn About Hudson River CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- First-graders at Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School in Croton-On-Hudson recently took trips to Croton Point Park, where they tackled the school’s mission to be stewards of the Hudson River. “Our first-graders had the opportunity to seine the river, observe the tide and take the water temperature,” said teacher Patricia Lynch. “As a follow-up, they wrote about their experience by zooming in on a particular part of the trip.
