Domenico Filardi, 80, Tuckahoe Resident EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- Domenico Filardi, of Tuckahoe, died Sept. 16. He was 80. He was born in Civita, in the Provence of Cosenza, Italy, to Domenica Rimoli and Antonio Filardi.  He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Luigia (Louise) Ventrella Filardi.  He is also survived by his three sons, Anthony, Joseph, and John Filardi, daughters-in-law Linda, Pamela, and Sharon; and grandchildren Vincent, Matthew, Christopher, Melissa and Nicole.  He is also survived by his brother Demetrio and his wife, Lidia.  He was predeceased by his brothers, Frank and Sandy.  Before his retirement, he worked …

Yorktown Celebrates Grange Fair YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The Grange Fair in Yorktown included musical headliners, Strawberry Fields and the Ultimate Beatles Tribute band.Due to the ban on poultry -- as a result of the national avian flu epidemic, there were many more larger livestock animals on site, such as horses, cows, oxen and goats.  Audience participation in the events on Sept. 10-13 such as pie eating and watermelon eating were huge draws. There were lots of local bands on stage, especially the teenage performers sponsored by the Justin Veatch Fund.
