The rally, which took place from 3:30-5:30 p.m., was a fun way to make disaster preparedness a priority for children and families. The rally also was part of disaster preparedness month. Ridgefield Library Opens Store On Main Level RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The Ridgefield Library has opened its own store this week in the Bossidy Commons on the library’s main level. It will be selling all sorts of library-related items, including book bags, journals, pens, pencils and laptop-related items, such as flash drives. SPCA Rescues Snakes From Lake Peekskill Home In Putnam PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Eleven snakes including a 13-foot Python were taken by the director of the SPCA of Westchester’s Humane Law Enforcement (HLE) Unit, Ernest Lungaro.The shelter took possession of the eleven snakes from a residence in Lake Peekskill on Monday, after determining that their owner could no longer care for ten of them. All of the snakes were boa constrictors and pythons, and were in good condition, according to reptile expert Chris Cooper. Cooper supervised the transfer of the snakes to the SPCA. Sister Maria Rosa, whose baptismal name was Rosemary Aiko Nakayama, was one of four children, two boys and two girls.
